I was lucky to attend a 3 days workshop organized for bloggers to learn more about blogging and human-rights from professional people in online journalism, law and technology. The workshop was organized by the CDFJ incorporation with USAID and IREX.

Lawyer Mohammad Qtaishat, blogger and online Journalist Mohammed Omar and technologist Ammar Ibrahim took the effort to train bloggers and pass some of their great knowledge and experiences to them.

Let me tell you some of the things that I gained from this workshop..

- I’ve learned more about human-rights and where do we stand as a country from these rights. It’s really important to learn about the laws, constitution, what’s your rights and how can you protect yourself from fear and oppression.

- I’ve learn what is Advocacy and the importance of being part of change.

- I’ve learn so many legal and constitutional term that i’ve never knew before.

- I’ve learned so many tricks and tips and rules in online writing and journalism.

and the most important thing is that my network has expanded and I’ve meet so many young and talented Jordanians who I believe they are the seeds of change.

I think the base of this workshop must be expanded and more experiences can be added.

So Wael, do share some knowledge! Any tips on advocating for the end of so-called honor killing? I don’t seem to be getting anywhere. :)
