Paint Amman with colours
April 29th, 2007
In cooperation with National Paints, the Municipality of Amman started a project of painting houses around poor areas of Amman. I took these photos of painted buildings around the city hall in Ras Al-Ain. I know that painting those houses will not solve all the problems of the neighborhoods. But I believe that it will make them feel good about them self’s. The view now is more like watercolor paint. Therefore I would like to thank the Municipality and National Paints for there efforts.

Hey Wael,
Since it’s been almost a year since you posted this blog entry… could you let me know in what ways the painting of these neighborhoods have affected them? Were these neighborhoods so-called “bad” neighborhoods to start with? And, how has the painting affected the feeling of and people in the neighborhood?
Thanks,
Shawn
