Once upon time, some Arab guy living in US wanted to search some Arabic terms but he did not have an Arabic keyboard so he created Yamli.com. His name was Habib Haddad. Habib created a new concept of what we call now, the 3arabeezi language..

Now google in an extraordinary move brought this concept into their services by introducing a new feature on Gmail, where you can write Arabic words using latin alphabets.

This means that the Arabic language is officially entered a new level of technology and hopefully this tough competition will come up with huge development in Arabic usage over the internet..

Google wave is the latest innovations of Google. Basically is it a new generation of sharing experience on the web. Through this platform you can share many things with your friends such as messages, maps, videos, apps and so on.

On Google wave you will find a list of threads. Each thread is called a wave and on each wave you can reply, edit, post links and items. You can increase you sharing capacity by installing wave extensions..

Until now Google wave is open only for invitations and I was lucky enough to get an invitation to try it out “thank you my friend Najeeb”.. Still Google wave did not become part of my online lifestyle but am sure with time Google wave will become an addiction for many online user.

I don’t know if we are going to have a new term called “Wave it man!”

Shaikh Khaffash is a new animation and show for mobile created by both Kharabeesh and 3ala Rasi. Shaikh Khaffash is a story about a Bedouin tribe leader who lived in the US. for a long time and went back to lead his tribe again. the mix and contrast of west culture and Bedouin creates funny situations and build up the comedy scene.

The show is now available for Umniah users and soon will be open for all mobile operators.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw the quality of production and the level of sophistication of this animation. This is way much better than some of what we see now days. It was at the same quality and production level of Mickey Mouse animation and that time..

What happened? Look now at Disney..!!

The Saudi culture is one of the most amazing and interesting cultures i have ever scene. I believe it is one of the most controversial urban environment in the modern world. The war between traditions and modernity, rules and freedom, religion and globalization, wealth and achievements. The place where you can do everything but you are not allowed to do anything…

Staying few days in Riyadh will not make me an expert in judging the Saudi society. I believe that you need to live for a long time to be able to understand really what is this society is all about. Its really very complicated and so diversed mix of culture.

I just want to go through few observations and notes where I found interesting to mention in my journey. In Saudi Arabia you can easily notice that luxury is necessity. Gaz is cheaper than water. Everything closes at pryer time. Food is the ultimate pleasure. Not every Saudi is rich. Each city, area has a different culture and life style. Checks stays at home. “For family” sign means for real family only..

One of the most interesting notes said by lots of people that the internet usage for women are very high in Saudi Arabia and can go beyond 50%. Another note said that because there is no cinema or outlets for youth, most of the spending goes for computers and gadgets. Also the price of Mac products are getting cheaper and cheaper. So the huge restriction lead the young generation to adopt technology more and more. which tells me that at one point the Saudi market will lead the middle east in the technology market. The young Saudi Generation seems to be more tech aware and looking for more openness and freedom.

Another interesting thing is the concept of Lomar Thobe. I found it really amazing where young Saudi designers are trying to develop new modern, cool trends based on there culture and traditional customs. The concept of merging the new, cool and hip with traditional thobe to represent the needs of the new generation of young Saudis is really genuine and extraordinary. I which that we can see this somewhere in upper part of the middle east.
